My name is Alison Chappell, the owner and founder of Balancing U. During my career as a senior manager, I began to realise that my health was being affected by the long hours, poor diet and general stress I faced. I 'treated myself' to the occasional massage or spa day, but realised that I wanted to take more control of how I felt. I decided to train as a Nutritional Therapist with the Institute of Optimum Nutrition and I qualified and set up Balancing U in 2014. I am a Zest4life associate and health coach.
I have supported many clients since then, helping them to understand how the food we eat and the things we do (or don't do) can affect our wellbeing. I've always been interested in the healing power of touch and I decided to train as a Reflexologist and Massage Therapist too. In addition to nutritional therapy, I now offer various holistic bodywork therapies such as reflexology, deep tissue, Swedish massage and hot stone massage.
Whether you need to take more control of your health and wellbeing, or you want to enjoy the power of 'me time', at Balancing U, I can help.
I am a registered Nutritional Therapist, member of BANT, CNHC, Association of Reflexologists and Federation of Holistic Therapies.
You can check my registration with the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) by searching the register at www.cnhc.org.uk.
By choosing therapists who are registered with the CNHC you can be confident that they are properly trained, qualified and insured.
What if I have medical insurance (private or through work)?
My qualifications and membership of my professional bodies mean that you may be able to claim back some or all of the costs of treatments if you have medical insurance. Check your policy or contact me for more details.
